Mahasamund. Youth Congress members organized a Jail Bharo Aandolan rally today in protest against the arrest of Bhilai MLA Devendra Yadav in the Baloda Bazaar violence case. During the rally, Youth Congress members left the Congress Bhawan and reached the City Police Station and surrounded the main gate. During this, there was a lot of scuffle between the police and the Congress members. The police arrested the protesters and put them in temporary jail. However, they were released after an hour.

Let us tell you, tight police security was already deployed in the police station, due to which the Youth Congress members could not enter the premises. Despite this, a scuffle continued between the police and the Youth Congress members. Later, the police arrested all the Youth Congress members and kept them in the temporary jail built in the mini stadium for an hour. All of them were later released without any conditions.

Youth Congress’s allegation

The Youth Congress alleges that Devendra Yadav has been arrested illegally at the behest of the BJP government. Youth Congress State General Secretary Nikhilkant Sahu said, “The arrest of Bhilai MLA Devendra Yadav is completely politically motivated. We oppose this and consider the government’s action illegal.”

Meanwhile, Mahasamund SDM Umesh Kumar Sahu said that a total of 28 Youth Congress members were arrested under the Indian Penal Code and brought to the temporary jail. Maintaining law and order is our priority.
