Chhattisgarh Diocese Women’s Service Association’s annual convention held at St. Paul’s Cathedral in the capital

Raipur. November 25, 2023. The annual convention of Chhattisgarh Diocesan Women’s Service Association was held on Friday at St. Paul’s Cathedral in the capital. In this, women of CNI churches from all over the state gathered. Chief guest Bishop SK Nanda of Chhattisgarh Diocese attended the online program. He described the role of women as extremely important in the spiritual progress of the Synod and the Diocese. In the convention, concern was expressed over the situation of families in the present context. Keynote speaker and Vice President of Chhattisgarh Diocese, Pastor Sushma Kumar, appealed to the women to take measures to save their families. Pastor Kumar said that all of you should not just pray to God to make children doctors and engineers. Rather, let us also pray that the lives of the children are saved. His soul was saved. The convention’s key verse Philippians 4:13 – I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me… was also explained.

The worship was conducted by Anjana Bhagat of Raigarh. Bible reading was done by Razmania Teppo and Adelina Das Bhilai of Parsapani. Special guests Pastor Sunil Kumar, Pastor Sushil Masih and Pastor S of Raigarh. Were officers. Diocese spokesperson John Rajesh Paul invited all the churches and the diocesan women’s assembly to participate in the Christmas Sarvadharma Sadbhavana Mega Rally to be held on December 17. A welcome song and dance was presented under the leadership of President Manjula Livingston.

Ruchi Dharmaraj conducted the Bible quiz at the convention. The winners in this were Sheela John and Rowley Salomon from the team of Raipur St. Paul’s Cathedral. Runners-up were Shanti Dani and K from the team of Vishwasgarh Church Raigarh. Hemlata continues. Zarina Das and Steffi Bajpai of the team of St. Jacob’s Church, Zora stood third. The consolation prize was given to Nidhi Philip and Mamta Kosle of the team of Christ Griha Church Bhatapara. In the fun games, in Pick Up the Bottle, first Mamta Kosle Bhatapara, second Anjalika Rama Disciples Church Bilaspur, third Nisha Masih Immanuel Church Vishrampur and consolation prize went to Chandramani Daan. In balloon dance, first was Reetu Masih and Archana Wani of Vishrampur, second was Nisha Wilson and Archana Khande of Takhatpur and third was K of Vishwasgarh Church Raigarh. Hemlata and Jharna Lal were donated by Zarina Das Chandramani of St. Jacob’s Church, Zora. Consolation prize went to Hashima Burman and Sangeeta of Mungeli.
President, Secretary and Treasurer presented the report
In the session, Chairman SP Samuel Takhatpur presented the annual report before the House. Similarly, Secretary Aparna Kumar Kaushik Raipur and Treasurer Dr. Alka Suna Tilda also presented the report. After discussion and brief amendments, all three reports were unanimously approved. A vote of thanks was passed to Diocese Secretary Nitin Lawrence, Treasurer Ajay John and the Executive Committee for their cooperation. The House decided to continue the tradition of honoring senior women who have rendered immeasurable services to the Mahila Sabha across the Diocese. Also, planning to help in educating brilliant children and making women self-reliant was also discussed.
