Mahila Congress has announced to gherao CM residence on 10th September on the issue of women safety in the state. Meanwhile, BJP state general secretary Sanjay Srivastava has hit back at Congress over this gherao. He said that Mahila Congress should first tell its numbers. There is no justification for gherao of those who have neither people nor team. Congress is deliberately trying to raise such issues to hide its failure.

He said that more than 600 rape cases have been reported in the 9 months of BJP government. More than 3 thousand criminal incidents have taken place against women. People in power protect criminals, so the criminals are emboldened. Today, whether it is a 4-year-old girl in Bhilai or a 50-year-old woman in Raipur New Bus Stand, everyone is being raped.
He said that rape incidents are happening continuously in Jashpur, Keshkal, Pakhanjur Durg, capital Raipur and Raigarh, Sakti, Ambikapur. Police and administration are busy in saving the accused and the victim woman has to wander from door to door for justice. When the victim women muster courage and go to the police station to register an FIR, instead of registering the report, they are harassed. Due to which the victim women even commit suicide. The increasing incidents of rape in the state have become a matter of concern for the state.
