Raipur. The remote villages have their own identity. Being far from the city, they have their own lifestyle. There are houses far apart. There are cows and goats at home. There are lush green trees and small gardens where favourite vegetables are grown and chickens and small chicks roam around. There is hustle bustle from morning to evening. They have their own traditions, culture and strong relationships but they are kutcha houses. Amidst these identities, some have broken houses and some have houses made of mud and tiles, but now under Vishnu’s good governance, the dream of building pucca houses for poor families is coming true.
Having a pucca house in the village used to be a sign of their being influential, because due to poverty, the dream of a pucca house was just a dream for countless villagers, the villagers who spent their lives in farming or in kutcha houses for generations never thought that one day they too would have a pucca house and they would be able to live in a pucca house among the influential people during their lifetime.. A similar dream is seen by the poor families living in the remote villages of Chhattisgarh, who are happy and proud that like strong relationships, the foundations of their houses are also getting stronger and only memories will remain in the kutcha houses that went through many difficulties.
Under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana in Chhattisgarh, eligible families are being given many facilities for housing construction. Under this scheme, beneficiaries of EWS and LIG category are being given subsidy on taking loan from the bank for housing construction or purchase. Under the Chief Minister Housing Scheme, eligible families are given money to build a house with a minimum plinth area of 25 square meters for housing construction. Under the Chief Minister Housing Scheme, eligible families are given money under Swachh Bharat Mission Gramin or MNREGA. Under the Atal Vihar Scheme, grants are given to the weaker and low-income group families for housing construction.
Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Gramin (PMAY-G) is being run in Chhattisgarh with the aim of providing pucca houses to rural families. The main objective of this scheme is to provide assistance to such families who do not have a pucca house and who are living in kutcha or dilapidated houses. This scheme has also been implemented in those areas of the state where there is lack of basic facilities. To provide good and pucca houses to the people in some rural areas of Chhattisgarh,
the government releases the list of housing scheme on the official website at an interval of few months.
Currently, the government is transferring ₹1,20,000 to the bank accounts of poor people in rural areas of Chhattisgarh under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, while ₹1,30,000 are being given to the poor people in the hilly areas of Chhattisgarh to build houses. Under this scheme, the beneficiary receives 90-95 man-days of labour from MGNREGA, and an
additional ₹12,000 is provided for toilet construction under the Swachh Bharat Mission-Gramin (SBM-G).
The government’s goal is to bring prosperity in the lives of the poor
In Chhattisgarh, beneficiaries under PMAY-G are selected on the basis of Socio-Economic Caste Census (SECC) 2011 data. Under this, priority is given to the poorest families. The first installment for the construction of houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana- Gramin (PMAY-G) was released by Prime Minister Narendra Modi by virtually participating from Bhubaneswar in the ‘More Housing More Rights’ program organized at the Indoor Stadium in Raipur, in which he transferred an amount of Rs 2,044 crore directly to the accounts of 5.11 lakh beneficiaries of Chhattisgarh… On this occasion, Prime Minister Modi had emphasized that, “It is the goal of our government to bring prosperity in the lives of the poor and weaker sections of the society. In the last 10 years, our government has achieved tremendous success in achieving this goal.
CM welcomed the beneficiaries by washing their feet
Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai was accompanied by Assembly Speaker Dr Raman Singh, Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma, other ministers, MLAs and officials of the state in the ‘More Housing More Rights’ program organized at the Indoor Stadium in Raipur. In his address, CM Sai had said, “Today is a day of double happiness for the people of Chhattisgarh. Because today is the PM’s birthday and the dream of home is going to come true for lakhs of people. We express our heartfelt gratitude to the PM. We have welcomed the beneficiaries by washing their feet in the ceremony. Today I am very happy and have spiritual satisfaction. ‘Roti, Kapda aur Makaan’ are the most basic needs of the common man. But even after several decades of independence, crores of citizens of the country do not have their own home.
18 lakh houses approved in Chhattisgarh
The dream of home for homeless families is being fulfilled through Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana.. CM Sai has warned about irregularities in Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana.. He said, “Our government is working with full commitment to implement the implementation of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. Any kind of negligence and irregularity will not be tolerated in its implementation.. “Under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, 32 lakh houses have been approved across the country, out of which about 30 percent houses have been allotted to Chhattisgarh, which is a big achievement for the state.
After becoming the Chief Minister, the first thing the cabinet did was to approve 18 lakh houses under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana in the state. If any complaint of irregularity comes to light, direct action will be taken against the concerned District Collector
.”
Giving information about the progress of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma said, “Since the formation of the BJP government, about 25,000 new houses are being built every month in the state. A new light will come in the lives of the homeless people of Chhattisgarh. We have fulfilled the promise we made today. This is a big step towards social justice and harmony. In the last 10 years, the central government has brought a big change in the lives of the poor by building 4 crore houses. Along with this, 3 crore new houses have been approved in the third term of Modi ji, due to which this scheme is becoming more effective.”
The beneficiary said – I had never thought of a permanent house
Gulab Singh, who lives in Paturiyada village at the end of Podi Uparoda in Korba district, lives at home with his three sons. Gulab Singh, who has seen about 60 springs, tells that somehow the household expenses were met by farming and labour in the village. Now his sons also do the same. Many of his generations have passed away but he never thought that a permanent house would be built. He told that his life was spent in a mud house. He had to face a lot of problems during the rains in the mud house. Sometimes the sleep of the night was disturbed due to rain water dripping from between the tiles and many times the floor below became muddy. Gulab Singh told that after his name appeared in the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, he was worried about whether he would actually get money to build a permanent house or not. Many times he felt that money would not come into his account and the dream of a permanent house would never be fulfilled.
Now the family will be able to live peacefully in a concrete house: Pinky
Gulab Singh said that when the money came into his account, his dream of having a house became a reality. He is giving a concrete shape to his house by withdrawing money from his account. Gulab Singh said that he is happy that Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai has put money in the accounts of the beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana and this amount is making the dreams of poor families like him come true. Pinky Paikra, a resident of this village, is also waiting for her permanent house to be completed. She says that she has to face a lot of problems while living in a kutcha house. A permanent house will not cause her any trouble during the rainy season and she will be able to live peacefully.
When the money for building a house came in the account of villager Panchram and his wife Roop Kunwar, they have completed their house. Panchram told that only plastering work of his house is remaining, soon this work will be completed and they will start living in a permanent house. Labdram of the village is also a beneficiary of PM Awas Yojana. He has started work as soon as the money came in his account.
Labdram, who has received 65 thousand so far, told that soon his house will be completed and he will say goodbye to the kutcha house with his family. All these beneficiaries expressed their gratitude to the Prime Minister and the Chief Minister for PM Awas Yojana and expressed happiness feeling proud about their dream home.
