New Delhi.5 november 2022. Team India’s star batsman Virat Kohli is celebrating his 34th birthday on Saturday, 5 November. The former captain of the team is in excellent form in the ongoing ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022 in Australia. In the four innings he has played so far, he has scored 220 runs at a strike rate of around 145. It includes three half-centuries and has been unbeaten on all three occasions.
Along with Sachin Tendulkar, Kohli is regarded as one of the best batsmen India has ever produced. The Master Blaster represented India in 200 Tests, 463 ODIs and one T20I alone. He scored a total of 34,357 international runs in three formats, which is the most runs by any batsman in the history of international cricket. Talking about Kohli, he has scored a total of 24,350 international runs in 102 Tests, 262 ODIs and 113 T20I innings.

Fastest batsman to score 24,000 international runs
Kohli broke his run drought of more than 1000 days with a century during the Asia Cup 2022 Super-4 match in September in Dubai with an unbeaten 122 off 61 balls against Afghanistan. During his stellar innings, which included 12 fours and six sixes, Kohli surpassed Tendulkar’s huge record to become the fastest batsman to score 24,000 international runs. The Delhi batsman needed 522 innings to reach this point, while the great Mumbai batsman took 543 innings to reach there. Apart from Tendulkar and Kohli, the current coach of Team India, Rahul Dravid is the only batsman in the country to have scored more than 24,000 international runs.
Fastest 12,000 ODI Runs
In the third match of the three-match ODI series during India’s tour of Australia in 2020-21, Kohli became the fastest batsman to reach 12,000 runs in ODI cricket. The former Indian captain scored 63 runs in 78 balls and during this five fours also came off his bat. During his brilliant innings, Kohli scored 12,000 ODI runs in his 242nd innings, while Tendulkar needed exactly 300 innings to reach there. In Team India’s opening T20 World Cup 2022 Super-12 match against arch-rivals Pakistan, Kohli overtook Tendulkar during a brilliant innings of 82 not out in 53 balls and became the highest fifty-plus score in the ICC white-ball tournament.
