Raipur. The newly appointed Governor of Chhattisgarh Ramen Deka has reached Raipur. Today, grand preparations were made in the new state hangar to welcome Governor Deka. In the welcome ceremony, the Governor was welcomed through Raut Nacha, Panthi dance, Sua dance and other tribal dances.

Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai, Assembly Speaker Dr. Raman Singh, Deputy Chief Minister Arun Saw, Ministers OP Choudhary, Ramvichar Netam, Laxmi Rajwade, Dayaldas Baghel, Kedar Kashyap, and Tankaram Verma along with former Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, MLA Sandeep Sahu and Raipur Mayor Ajaz also attended this grand welcome.

Speaking to the press after his welcome ceremony, Governor Ramen Deka said, “Chhattisgarh is moving ahead in the direction of development. Our aim is to act as a strong link between the central and state governments and accelerate the pace of development. I assure that I will continue to work for the development of Chhattisgarh and play an important role in the progress of the state.”

The Governor also said that “Chhattisgarh is an emerging state and is on the path of development. Our job is to maintain coordination between the central and state government and accelerate the pace of development. Chhattisgarh is rich in minerals and culture and it is our priority to enhance relations between Assam and Chhattisgarh as well.”

When asked about the role of the Governor, he said, “I am no longer a member of the BJP. I have resigned from the BJP party and will now be serving in a constitutional post. So, I have to follow and be guided by the Constitution and government rules.”

Commenting on pending reservation cases, he said, “It is too early to discuss reservation now. At present, development will be our main priority.”
