Raipur. Preparations for the Rath Yatra have intensified in the temple of Lord Jagannath located in Raipur, the capital of Chhattisgarh. Lord Jagannath’s chariot is being changed for the first time after 40 years. The work of making the chariot has been started from 9th ApriLet us tell you, Lord Jagannath’s Rath Yatra will be taken out across the country on 7th July. Rath Yatra of Lord Jagannath is taken out every year in the state capital also. This year’s Rath Yatra is going to be quite unique. This time the chariot of God is being made by Muslim artisan Habib Khan and his son Riyaz Khan. Muslim artisans have earlier prepared the chariot in Nagpur and Gondia also. The Muslim artisan told that the chariot is being constructed according to Hindu religion. l. By the end of May, the chariot will be ready, which is being made in a completely new way.
The temple management said that the old chariot of the Lord got damaged, hence a new chariot is being prepared. The chariot of Lord Jagannath is being made from two and a half quintals of Neem and Sarai wood. Let us tell you, due to the huge crowd on the day of Rath Yatra, there is difficulty in turning the chariot. Therefore new technology has been used in this chariot. Steering facility will be available in the chariot. Which two people can easily fold anywhere. It will also have the facility of brakes to avoid accidents. Apart from this, special carving will be done on the chariot and wheels which will further enhance the beauty of the chariot.
Giving information, artisan Habib Khan said that the chariot of God is made from Neem and Sarai wood only. To make the chariot durable, Sarai has been used in it. 80 percent of the chariot is being made from Neem. The height of the chariot will be 17 feet.
The artisan told that this chariot has iron wheels. A separate staircase has also been made to climb into the chariot. Its total weight will be up to 2500 kg. This chariot can lift up to 1000 kg. This chariot can be used for the next 70 years.
