Raipur– In the state, more than five thousand contract employees of state government 403 Swami Atmanand English Medium Excellent Schools have not been paid for the last three months. On the other hand, government employees posted in these schools to teach and perform other responsibilities as expected of them remain paid their monthly remunerations. Mohit Kumar, the Chhattisgarh Contract Teachers and Employees Union state president, has also threatened to protest and wrote a letter to Divya Umesh Mishra, Director of Public Education, demanding funds be released immediately.
In his letter, Vikas Tiwari informed that there are as many as 7,41 Swami Atmanand Excellent Schools where more than 12,832 teachers and employees are serving. These teachers and employees have been working very hard to execute all the assignments given by the government and management with a lot of commitment and integrity, including the timely delivery of the assignments. Scoring 100% of the results in the board exams, the students of 10th & 12th standard have emerged as winners. The students of these schools have been able to take the state to yet another level of progress, as a total of 28 students scored their state’s top 10 merit list. This PowerPoint presentation, coupled with other commitments such as the teachers and the staff, has been appreciated by the masses. Although the staff members of the centre had worked very hard, effectively, and efficiently to attain good results, they have not been paid their wages for two to three months (March, April, June), which is a very serious and disappointing problem.
Tiwari also recalled that the pension benefits of these employees have significantly reduced and that their source of income has become a challenge. This sparked concern in the hearts of the employees, and he encouraged the Director of Public Education to listen to their problems and tend to them with sympathy. He asked the authorities to be told once again to implement the directive contained in the referenced letter and address the salary remittance delay as soon as possible because the contract employees need their pay during this
