Supply of drugs in 5 states while sitting in Delhi: Medical store operator was running the network, Raipur police caught him posing as a customer

Raipur Police has exposed the big drug trade. Sitting in Delhi, the accused used to supply drugs illegally in 5 states. Raipur Police has caught the medical store operator posing as a customer.

After interrogating the accused arrested in earlier cases, the police had reached Delhi. After this, big supplier Sandeep Bhardwaj was arrested and brought to Raipur on transit remand. This action has been taken as part of the anti-drug campaign. Clues were found from the accused arrested in the previous case.

120 vials of banned intoxicating syrup were seized in Devendra Nagar police station area. In this case, when the police interrogated the accused, they got information about purchasing drugs from Kamlesh Upadhyay of Nagpur, Maharashtra. On this the police arrested the accused Kamlesh Upadhyay. 2760 vials of banned intoxicating syrup were found in the possession of the accused.

After this, accused Kamlesh Upadhyay was strictly interrogated regarding the supply chain. On which he told to buy the syrup from Sandeep Bhardwaj, director of Ganesh Pharmaceutical Agency of Delhi. As soon as the information was received, a joint team of Anti Crime Cyber Unit and Devendra Nagar police station was sent to Delhi.

Police raid in Delhi

While reaching Delhi and locating the accused, the police raided the medical store of accused Sandeep Bhardwaj. On being interrogated by the police, Sandeep Bhardwaj told that he had illegally supplied 160 boxes (19,200 vials) of banned intoxicating syrup to Kamlesh Bhardwaj’s Shivnath Medical Store.

Along with this, accused Sandeep Bhardwaj told that he has supplied banned intoxicating syrup and tablets to many states including Maharashtra, Assam, Guwahati and Nagaland. 600 pieces of banned intoxicating syrup have been seized from the accused, its value is Rs 1 lakh 20 thousand. Raipur Police is running a campaign against drugs. Under this campaign, in the last 10 days, 26 people have been arrested in 18 cases of Narcotics Act, out of which 10 accused are interstate smugglers. These include those accused of supplying drugs from Odisha, Maharashtra, Delhi, Madhya Pradesh and Punjab.

In the action so far, the police have seized about 79 kg 136 grams of ganja, 4.31 grams of MDMA from their possession. Drugs, 21 grams of opium and 600 vials of banned intoxicating syrup have been seized.

Major action under Excise Act also

Raipur SP said that action is being taken continuously against illegal transportation of liquor and those who drink liquor in public places. In total 31 cases of Excise Act, 32 accused have been arrested and about 181 liters of liquor has been seized from their possession.
