The statue of Shri Ram installed in front of Ram temple on VIP Road in Raipur fell on Wednesday morning. This statue was installed by the Culture Department on the occasion of Pran Pratishtha of Ram Temple in Ayodhya on 22 January. The statue fell due to strong wind at 10.30 in the morning.
Along with the statue, the iron structure designed in the shape of a bow also fell. During this time, some people passing by suffered minor injuries.
After the accident, preparations were going on to repair and reinstall the statue from around 4 pm. In this regard, when Dainik Bhaskar’s team wanted to know the reason from Ashish Shukla, who was present at the time when the idol fell, he told that the construction agency was negligent, due to which this incident happened.
The statue did not fall, it is being shifted – Culture Department
When Dainik Bhaskar spoke to Vivek Acharya, director of the Culture Department on the matter, he told that the framework of the statue is being removed and shifted to Purkhauti Muktangan. The idol has not fallen, our team has removed it. The official said that this is not a permanent structure, it is made of temporary fiber.
It was installed on 22 January on the occasion of the consecration of Shri Ram temple in Ayodhya. It is being removed after the program is over. I have asked him to remove me yesterday itself and today preparations are underway to shift him to Muktangan.
When Dainik Bhaskar’s team reached the spot, the people installing the idol ran away leaving their belongings behind. Eyewitness Ram Shringar Tripathi present there told that some time ago, workers were re-installing the idol of Ram Ji.
