Mahasamund . Mahasamund Nagar Palika is adopting a new trend these days to increase its income. It writes a letter to the police to register an FIR against those who do illegal plotting of land. As soon as a deal is done with the land owner, the municipality withdraws the FIR. Not only this, the revenue department also diverts the same land against whom the Nagar Palika writes a letter to the police for action. The Nagar Palika is now increasing its income by scaring such illegal plotters with the fear of the police.
In the case of setting up a new illegal colony by illegally plotting in Khasra number 617/1 area 0.6478 of Chandrahas Chandrakar and Naveen Chandrakar behind Shriram Vatika in ward number 3 under Mahasamund Municipality limits, Municipality CMO Thomson Ratre had issued notice 3 times. But both the land owners ignored the notice. CMO Thomson Ratre has written a letter to City Kotwali on 24 February 2024 to register an FIR against both the land owners, stating violation of the rules of the Land Revenue Code. As soon as the municipality colludes with the land owner, exactly on 12 March 2024, the Municipality CMO again writes a letter to the police requesting not to register an FIR. The municipality is now working to increase its income by scaring such land owners with the fear of the police. So CMO Thomson Ratre says that all this action is being taken on the orders of the collector.
It is worth noting that on the fourth day after the Nagar Palika writes a letter to the police to take action against the land owners accusing them of illegal plotting, that is, on 29 February 2024, both the land owners submit an application for diversion of Khasra number 617/1 in the Sub-Divisional Officer (Revenue) Court and on 17 May 2024, about 12 thousand square feet of the land of the same Khasra number is diverted. On the other hand, the Revenue Department is further encouraging people doing illegal plotting by diverting the land of such owners. Regarding the diversion, the Sub-Divisional Officer says that he did not know that the land on which action is being taken is the same Khasra land.
How both the departments are jointly promoting illegal plotting business can be understood in this way. Nagar Palika and Revenue Department threaten land owners with legal action but no documents related to the land are made available to the police. Police issues notice for action on the land and in the same way collusion is made with the land owners. Then Nagar Palika writes a letter to stop legal action. Trainee DSP cum Kotwali in-charge Monika Shyam says that Nagar Palika had written a letter for FIR but later it was written in the letter that no action was to be taken. It is noteworthy that on June 2, the Nagar Palika has submitted a list of 18 illegal colonies to the Revenue Department. But in that list, there is no mention of the name of the landowner, Khasra and area of any colony.
