Gariaband. The Congress government has put the final seal on the file to make Devbhog a Nagar Panchayat before announcing the date of urban body elections in the state. This decision has been officially confirmed in the gazette issued by the Chhattisgarh government. According to this gazette, Jharbahal of Dohal Panchayat and Sonamundi village of Mungjhar Panchayat have also been included in the limits of the Nagar Panchayat. The previous Congress government had kept the file pending by announcing the Nagar Panchayat, while Kopra was made a Nagar Panchayat.
Let us tell you that on August 8, many senior officials of the district organization under the leadership of former Parliamentary Secretary and BJP MLA candidate Govardhan Manjhi met Deputy Chief Minister Arun Saw and requested him to take action on the pending file of Nagar Panchayat in accordance with public sentiment. On which the Deputy Chief Minister took immediate action and the Nagar Panchayat was declared on August 21.
Checking of water sources from September 1
BJP MLA candidate Govardhan Manjhi had demanded testing of all drinking water sources of Devbhog block affected by iron fluoride. On the instructions of Deputy Chief Minister Arun Saw, 1300 water sources of Devbhog will be tested from September 1. The PHE department has formed a 5-member team for this.
