Revenue department took a big action against illegal paddy hoarding, 879 bags of paddy were confiscated and the accused was sent to jail

 Pithora. Major action has been taken against illegal paddy storage in Mahasamund district. The Revenue Department team raided Ankori village and seized 879 sacks of paddy. The team took action under the Mandi Act for not showing documents related to paddy. After the action, accused Vishal Gajendra was sent to jail on charges of misbehaving and threatening the officials. Paddy procurement is continuing in the state. In such a situation, a close watch is being kept on illegal paddy transportation and storage.

According to the information, a raid was conducted in village Ankori late at night under the leadership of Basna Sub-Divisional Officer Manoj Khande. During this, 479 sacks of paddy were seized from the house of Vishal Gajendra and 400 sacks of paddy were seized from the house of Jagdish Sidar. The officials had received information that illegal paddy was stored at these places without valid documents.

The Revenue Department team asked for documents on the spot, but sufficient documents could not be presented. After this, paddy was seized while taking action under the Mandi Act. During the action, the accused Vishal Gajendra misbehaved with the officers and also threatened them. On this, Sub-Divisional Officer Manoj Khande took a strict stand and ordered the accused to be sent to jail.

On the instructions of Mahasamund Collector Vinay Langeh, strict action is being taken continuously against illegal paddy storage and transportation in the district. Strict action is being taken against those found guilty. Earlier, the administration had also taken major action in Saraipali and Pithora and seized 1000 sacks of paddy being illegally transported in trucks.
