Red and orange alert issued for heavy rain for 72 hours, Meteorological Department warns

Lucknow. 17 July 2023.  Constant vicissitudes change in the weather of Uttar Pradesh. The Meteorological Department has issued a red and orange alert for heavy rain for 72 hours. There is a possibility of lightning along with heavy rains. Heavy rain alert has been issued in 30 districts for the next 72 hours. Heavy rain alert has been issued in Meerut, Saharanpur, Muzaffarnagar and Shamli.In other districts of UP, the Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for rain. In Lucknow, people have been warned not to roam in the open. IMD has advised to avoid coming in contact with unprotected buildings and trees.ccording to the Meteorological Department, apart from Meerut, Ghaziabad, Muffarnagar, Bijnor, Baghpat, Shamli, Saharanpur, Hapur, Bulandshahr, Moradabad, Bareilly, Rampur, the districts of Bareilly division are included. The pace of monsoon has remained good in UP.

Meteorologist Dr. N. Subhash said that a yellow alert has been issued for extremely heavy rains in some of these districts. Heavy rain warning has been issued in 20 districts of the state.
