  Rajnandgaon 04 April 2021 . Collector Topswar Verma visited the fish cage culture constructed at Mongra Barrage in Ambagar Chowki development block today. Fish cage culture is being done at a cost of Rs 2 crore 88 lakh in the Mongra Barrage built in Shivnath river. Collector Verma reached the cage culture in the middle of the dam through the ramp, where he inquired about the fish cage culture. He said that this technique of fisheries with the latest technology will benefit farmers and fishermen. In this work, the workers engaged in fisheries have got permanent employment. He inquired about the fish of Fungaceous and Tilapia species in the Cage culture.

 

It is noteworthy that 96 cages have been installed in the middle of the dam. Where the fish of Fungaceous and Tilapia species are being massively fished at one place. The Cage culture scene between the dam is delightful and exciting. The four-by-eight-meter cage has a mesh up to twenty feet deep. This cage culture is being done by the district administration and fisheries department, operated under the scheme of the government. The fish are fed from time to time by going through the ramp to the cage in the middle of the dam. The ratio of the height of the cage to the level of the water in the barrage is also reduced. Giving information about fish cage culture, Mr. Sohail said that this method is suitable for a large number of fisheries. In June, 5 thousand fingerlings were added for fisheries. A crop is completed in 6 to 7 months. Accordingly, the cage will be emptied in 10 days. He told that 192 quintals will be produced according to about 4 thousand fish.
