Raipuraj: Assembly wise training will be given to remain alert during counting: Training of counting agents has started.

Countdown has started in Chhattisgarh. By 30th November, assembly wise counting agents will be trained in all the district headquarters organizations. Today on Thursday, training is being given to counting agents in Raipur including Balod, Rajim, Mahasamund, Bhilai 3, Janjgir-Champa, Sakti, Bilaspur, Kawardha, Korba and Pratappur district headquarters.

This training will be given to all 90 assembly agents. In this training, how to keep a watch during the counting of votes, how to write machine-wise voting numbers, how to match the machines and the counted votes, all this will be taught. Till now the training has been done here.

The training process has started from 27th November. On 27th November i.e. the first day, training took place in Kondagaon, Jagdalpur, Bemetara, Durg city, Sarangarh, Raigarh and Manendragarh. On November 28, training has been conducted in Dantewada, Rajnandgaon, Marwahi and Kunkuri. The agents of Kanker and Ambikapur districts are to be trained on 29th November.

Training remaining in these districts

On November 30, training will be held in Balod, Rajim, Mahasamund, Bhilai 3, Raipur, Janjgir-Champa, Sakti, Bilaspur, Kawardha, Korba and Pratappur. Dhamtari is the only district where training will take place on December 2.

What is the job of a counting agent?

Counting agent is a person who is present on behalf of a party during counting. He is told in advance his machine and table number. He remains present there during the entire process of counting. All of them are appointed by the party.

An agent is a person who, on behalf of his party, keeps an eye on all the activities taking place during the counting of votes. As long as the counting continues on the table he gets, he remains present there. Agents including two AROs will be present in the Congress.

Congress has made 2 AROs and 14 counting agents in every assembly. There will be a ballot paper agent, who will take over the role of ARO after the counting of ballot papers is over. All AROs and counting agents of the capital Raipur will be trained on 30th November. Apart from PCC officials, senior leaders of District Congress will also be present in this training to be held at Congress Bhawan.

Continuous monitoring from control room

The team of the control room set up in Rajiv Bhawan has been instructed to be ready from morning for the day of counting. Instructions have been issued to the team members to collect assembly wise information and update the information in PCC after every round. The team will be deployed from 7 am till late night.

This is how votes are counted

Counting of votes will begin from electronically transmitted postal ballots and postal ballots. After half an hour, counting of votes in EVM can start. Even if the counting of postal ballots has not been completed. When the votes cast in 14 EVMs are counted, it is considered as one round. An eye is kept on every round.

Data is kept safe

After counting of votes, it is saved in the control unit memory system. This data remains until it is deleted. The responsibility of counting lies with the election officer i.e. the returning officer. The returning officer is the local officer.
