Girls planted saplings with the director of female child development

Women groups prepare one lakh bamboo tree guards for environmental protection

Raipur, 05 June 2020. On the occasion of World Environment Day, girls and officials planted shady and fruitful saplings along with Mrs. Divya Umesh Mishra, Director of Women and Child Development Department, at Government Girl Child Home and Nari Niketan Complex in Khamhardih, capital Raipur. On this occasion, guava, mango, chiku, mausambi and neem were planted. The plant will help in increasing the nutritional value of the girl child and women living in Nari Niketan. The plants were also protected by planting wooden tree-guards prepared by self-help groups

The operator told the girl child planting the plant that all should plant their names on their planted plants and take full care of the plants. So that plants can survive and grow well. She will come from time to time to inspect it. District Program Officer of the department Mr. Ashok Pandey informed that about one lakh wooden tree-guards have been given to the forest department after training by the women self-help groups from the Skill Development Center. Tree-guards prepared by women’s groups will prove to be important steps for environmental protection. Veterinary Doctor Dr. Padam Jain had special support. Officers of Women and Child Development Department were also present on the occasion.
