Raipur: Work of Jal Jeevan Mission is being done on mission mode: Minister Guru Rudrakumar: work orders worth Rs 1018.65 crore issued for 4183 tap-water schemes in 3285 villages

Raipur, 17 August 2021. Public Health Engineering and Village Industries Minister Guru Rudra Kumar has said that the approved water-water schemes are being implemented in mission mode to provide drinking water facility to the people in rural areas of Chhattisgarh. He said that the works of Jal Jeevan Mission are being completed expeditiously even after the odd circumstances of the Corona transition period. He said that the work of supplying water from tap to the houses of 39 thousand families of the state would be completed by the year 2023. The departmental officers and field staff are working diligently to complete the approved drinking water schemes within the time limit. As per the intention of Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, it is our top priority to provide water from every household tap to the people in the state, for which every effort is being made.

Jal Jeevan Mission Director Shri S. Prakash informed that the work of tap-water schemes approved under Jal Jeevan Mission is going on fast in Chhattisgarh. Under the Jal Jeevan Mission, a total of 1844 work orders of about Rs 1018.65 crore have been issued for 4183 schemes in 3285 villages by the District Water and Sanitation Mission of various districts till August 12, under which 187 in Rajnandgaon district, 159 in Dhamtari, 118 in Janjgir-Champa, 107 in Korba, 112 in Raigarh, 90 in Surajpur, 87 in Raipur, 97 in Bemetara, 78 in Durg, 72 in Mahasamund, 70 in Gariaband, 66 in Ambikapur, 65 in Jashpur, 76 in Kanker, 64 in Mungeli, 45 in Balod, 44 in Bastar (Jagdalpur), 47 in Bijapur, 44 in Kabirdham, 43 in Balrampur, 35 in Balodabazar, 26 in Bilaspur, 26 in Korea (Baikunthpur), 23 in Kondagaon, 39 in Narayanpur, 23 in Dantewada and one in Sukma district have been issued. A total of 4 lakh 58 thousand 330 domestic tap connections will be given in the entire work order issued. All these schemes are being monitored by the District Water and Sanitation Mission of the districts.
