Work hard with enthusiasm to bring glory to the university so that it can be included in the top 100 universities of the country. Governor Shri Ramen Deka said these things today at the 61st Foundation Day celebrations of Pandit Ravishankar Shukla University.
Shri Deka attended the function organized in the auditorium of Pandit Ravishankar Shukla University as the chief guest. In his address, he said that Chhattisgarh is a wonderful and beautiful state. 70 percent of the population here is educated and 44 percent of the land is covered with forests, the culture here is older than the Ramayana period. These three characteristics of the state impress him. He pointed out the similarity in the ancient heritage and culture of Assam and Chhattisgarh.
The Governor told the students that there is no shortcut to success. You have to work hard to fulfill your dreams. Shri Nelson Mandela became the President of South Africa after spending 26 years in jail, so you should move forward with the view that nothing is impossible in life.
He said that it is our good fortune that we were born in India. The ancient education system of India was very rich. Lord Macaulay introduced a new education system under the pressure of the British rule. The Governor said that learning in the mother tongue leads to all-round development of students. Therefore, one should not have any inferiority complex about the language. He said that he has high expectations about research and innovation in the university. He stressed that women, teachers and girl students should get a favorable environment in educational institutions. The Vice Chancellor should hold meetings with the teachers of his institutions from time to time and get information about their problems. Know the problems of the students by talking to them. Mr. Deka said that he would review the work of universities every 3 months. He asked to work towards making Raipur an education hub.
In the ceremony, Raipur MP Mr. Brijmohan Agarwal said that Pandit Ravishankar Shukla University is the oldest university in the state. Students who have studied here are working on high positions. He suggested organizing an alumni meet of old students, which will also benefit the university.
The chief guest of the ceremony, Professor P.S. Shukla, Vice Chancellor of North Eastern Hill University Shillong (Meghalaya), highlighted the action plan to promote innovation in coordination between the two universities. The
welcome address at the ceremony was given by Professor Sachchidanand Shukla, Vice Chancellor of Pandit Ravishankar Shukla University. The best performing college was awarded during the ceremony. Students who performed excellently in various fields were honored, awards were given to the winning students of Ideathon 2024 organized by the Innovation, Incubation Center of the University, certificates were given to the employees who did excellent work in various departments and retired officers and employees of the university were honored.
On this occasion, an MoU was signed between Pandit Ravishankar Shukla University and Shillong University for teacher and student exchange program and tribal based studies.
The vote of thanks was given by the Registrar of the University, Mr. Shailendra Kumar Patel. On this occasion, faculty members, professors, officers-employees, students of the University were present in large numbers.
