Minister of Women and Child Development joins Mahila Jagriti Camp.
Raipur, 06 March 2021. Women and Child Development and Social Welfare Minister Smt. Anila Bhendia said that women’s participation is important in the development of society. Women are leaders in various fields including social, political, administrative. Smt. Bhendia was addressing the district level Mahila Jagriti Camp held at Daundilohara, the development block headquarters of Balod district today. He said that various welfare schemes are being run by the state government for the betterment of women. The Chief Minister’s Nutrition Scheme has been started by the Department of Women and Child Development, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, to eliminate malnutrition in the state. He said that mother-child will be healthy and strong, So the state and country will be strong. He said that under the Suraji village scheme, various livelihood activities are being conducted in Gowthan to make the women self-help groups self-reliant. With a view to empowering the women socially and economically in the state, Chhattisgarh Mahila Kosh is providing loans to women self-help groups on easy terms. Parliamentary Secretary and Gundardhi MLA Mr. Kunwar Singh Nishad, Sanjari-Balod MLA Smt. Sangeeta Sinha and Collector Mr. Janmejaya Mahobe were also addressed the camp.
Minister Smt. Bhendia provided a check for loan sanction to ten women self help groups under Chhattisgarh Mahila Kosh and Saksham Yojana at the camp. Nutritional pests and mother-child pests were distributed to eleven women for baby shower ceremony of pregnant mothers. Minister Smt. Bhendia flagged off the Nutrition Fortnight Chariot to bring awareness about nutrition in the district. He also inspected the “Balod Bazaar” stall set up at the camp site and inquired about the local products being sold. On this occasion, President of District Panchayat Mrs. Sonadevi Deshalhara, District Panchayat member Mrs. Basanti Bala Bhendia, Mr. Horilal Rawate and other public representatives of the area, officers, employees and large number of women including dignitaries were present.
