Raipur, 08 March 2021. Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel while addressing a state level women’s conference on the occasion of International Women’s Day today said that there has always been a significant contribution of mother power in Chhattisgarh. The Chief Minister said that women have been given the right to equality in the Constitution, today the need is also to give women the right to equality in the family, so that they can be able to take decisions on their own. He said that the state government is continuously working towards the education, health and self-reliance of women.
Mr. Baghel said that when a man is educated he benefits, but when the woman is educated, the whole family benefits, the whole family is educated and the society moves forward. He said that free education has been made by the state government for girls and boys up to 12th standard. In the name of Swami Atmanand, 52 English mediums have been started this year, and 119 English medium schools have been provided in the budget for the year 2021-22. In the coming time, English medium schools will be opened in every block headquarters, Through which daughters will be able to get education through English medium in the development block itself. The Chief Minister said that several schemes are being run by the State Government to provide better nutrition and better health facilities to women. 20 thousand women suffering from anemia have become healthy due to the Chief Minister’s Nutrition Campaign. Through this campaign, 99 thousand children are freed from malnutrition in one year. Women are also getting the benefit of health services through Mukhyamantri Haat-Bazaar Clinic Scheme, Urban Slum Health Scheme and Dai-Didi Clinic Scheme. In the Dai-Didi clinic scheme, the entire staff including the doctor is female, so that women should not hesitate to tell their health related problems. The Chief Minister said that to make women self-reliant, 20 lakh women have been provided employment and income resources by linking them with self-help groups. Along with making vermi compost, women are operating various economic activities in Gothan, they are also earning from the collection of minor forest produce. Earlier, only 07 types of minor forest produce were purchased on support price, now their number has been increased to 52, which has also increased the income of women. Women are also running various cottage industries such as broom making, lac, kodo-kutki processing, honey production. Rural women have started a readymade garment factory in Dantewada under the brand DENEX. Naxalite-affected women from internal areas are also working in this factory after training in tailoring. On the International Women’s Day, the Chief Minister honored women with outstanding work in the field of women empowerment and Anganwadi workers who did excellent work. While wishing women on the occasion of International Women’s Day, Women and Child Development Minister Smt. Anila Bhendia said that till now financial assistance has been given in Chhattisgarh on the birth of a daughter in the Matri Vandan Yojana, now the second daughter of Mata Kaushalya Matri Vandan Yojana Assistance of five thousand rupees will also be given at birth.
