70 women of the group got employment

Women and cattle rearers from remote areas are today getting empowered by connecting with livelihoods. The women expressed happiness that they got employment in the village itself. In Wadrafnagar and Rajpur of Balrampur district, women of self-help groups are involved in dairy business and are engaged in milk production. All the nearby cattle farmers are directly benefiting from this. Women entrepreneurship is being promoted by setting up milk units under RIPA. At present, two groups of women together are running a dairy under the name Doodhwala. The women told that they are buying milk from cattle herders around the village and selling milk and milk products. The income of women and cattle herders is increasing due to access to the market.

70 women of the group got employment

    In the initial phase of the scheme, milk collection centers have been opened in Wadrafnagar and Rajpur, in which 70 women from different groups are doing the work of milk collection and distribution. The women of the group are regularly purchasing about 152 liters of milk from 76 cattle farmers of 10 nearby villages. The women of the group are selling milk through Bihaan Mart every day to 136 consumers in the urban area. Also, the women of the group are preparing various types of sweets from the leftover milk. Since the beginning of this scheme, about 05 lakh 70 thousand milk has been purchased by both the centers and 05 lakh 64 thousand milk has been sold. She has also earned additional profit by manufacturing sweets from leftover milk and selling them. Mrs. Meena, a member of the Evergreen Group, says that a producer group has been formed by including women, which has been named Evergreen Producer Group.
