Raipur 27 June 2020. The women of Bihan Raipur (Ujala Village Organization), who met Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, were working in their residence office here at Kalpataru Multi Multiversity Center, Serikheri. The women showed various products being prepared in this center to the Chief Minister and gave information about their relation. Chief Minister Mr. Baghel appreciated the products manufactured by women and sought information from women about them. Encouraging women, the Chief Minister announced the expansion of the work of this multi-utility center at Serikheri and to provide an amount of Rs 15 lakh from the CSR item for various activities. The Chief Minister said that with this amount, he will be able to work even more easily. On this occasion, the Chief Minister released a folder focused on the activities of Multi Utility Center Serikhedi and the products being prepared. The women told the Chief Minister that during the Corona crisis, they got huge support and employment through this center. The women had brought with them products like cow dung-pot, rakhi and also the chief minister. The chairperson of the women’s group Smt. Mohini Dahria thanked the Chief Minister for the announcement of starting the Godhan Nyaya Yojana.
Women from groups under the State Rural Livelihoods Mission (Bihaan) in this center include glycerin soap, designer candles, bamboo tree guards, incense sticks, phenyl, face wasps, mushrooms, munga powder prepared cookies, herbal tea, LED bulbs, sleepers, cow dung Designers are preparing ashes from pottery, herbal gulal and bamboo, cow dung, vegetable seeds and glycerin soap. During the Corona crisis, women from the center have started preparing sanitizers, face seals, three-layer cotton masks, medical gowns and more recently PPE kits to protect against corona. The women of Serikhedi Center also designed Corona safety kits for the workers who stayed at the Quarantine Center, which were used at the Quarantine Centers in Raipur. Sanitizer, soap, mask, etc. were included in this kit.
Raipur Collector Mr. S. present on the occasion Bhartidasan told the Chief Minister that 180 women are working in this center starting from December last year. The business of various materials produced by women has so far done a total of Rs 1 crore 10 lakh. During this period, women have been paid wages of about 30 lakh rupees. Women working here are being paid wages at the rate of 25 rupees per hour. Every woman gets an average wage of Rs 200 per day. Women are making soap at this center from cow urine, cow dung powder, cow dung extracts, potato vitamin E, camel milk, goat milk and aloe vera. They are selling well due to good quality. So far, about 12 lakh rupees soap has been sold in this center. Soap prepared in this center is being bought and sold in the entire country by the Khadi Board of the Government of India. The masks being designed to protect against corona at Serikhedi Center are being sold for just Rs 40, while the market price is up to Rs 120. Ujala Village Organization’s 35 self-help groups are associated with the Multutility Center.
11 thousand bamboo tree guards were prepared by the women of the center. Bamboo Tree Guard did a business of about 46 lakh rupees, of which a profit of 5 to 6 lakh rupees. The women of the center are preparing incense sticks from bamboo powder, cow dung and charcoal. Mushrooms, Munga, Ragi, Kodo, Otas etc. are also being used in bakery items being prepared by the Center. Various types of chocolate, pasties are being prepared. Munga powder and mushroom powder are also being prepared here. 19 women of this center were trained to make slippers, 10 machines were made available, a thousand slippers are made here daily. Which is sold by local merchants. So far, 25 lakh rupees slippers have been sold in this center, which has earned Rs 3 lakh. The LED assembling unit has been started in the center. This unit has a capacity to make 400 bulbs. LED bulbs are being prepared by providing materials to women on the policy of 100% by-bake. Herbal gulal, jute bags, paper bags are also prepared. The center has sold 6 to 7 thousand liters of sanitizer. Artificial pearl cultivation, aqua culture, construction of aquarium at bamboo base has also been started in the center. Five types of herbal tea are being prepared in this center, which is in great demand. Products like immunity booster tea, energy booster tea, freshener tea and kamig tea are being manufactured here. Multi-utility center of Serikheri has been developed with various schemes of Panchayat and Rural Development Department, cooperation of different departments, amount of CSR fund. CREDA provides cold storage, solar dryers, solar water heaters. It has also been supported by Canara Bank, Monnet, Bank of Baroda, United India Insurance, Hitech Power, Nandan Steels, Balco and Janman Foundation.
