NITI Aayog appreciated the production of food items from Bastar Food Firm and Mahua in Dantewada
NITI Aayog has made two separate tweets appreciating the initiative of preparing various food products from forest produce based Bastar Food Firm run by tribal women in aspirational district Bastar and Mahua in aspirational district Dantewada.
NITI Aayog has tweeted on the importance of Mahua in the tribal economy and the Bastar Food Firm started in Bastar district. Underlining the importance of Mahua, NITI Aayog has tweeted – Do you know, in Akanakshi district Dantewada, Mahua is an integral part of the tribal economy? It is written in this tweet that Mahua is a sweet flower full of nutritional and medicinal properties.
Various food items like laddus, tea, jams, jellies and cookies are being made from Mahua in Dantewada district of Chhattisgarh. The tweet depicts a woman preparing mahua products and mahua laddus in the kitchen with hygiene standards.
Similarly, NITI Aayog, in a tweet displaying a picture of women preparing food items in Bastar Food Firm based on forest produce started in Bastar district, wrote that the target of Bastar Food Firm in aspirational district Bastar is to provide people with food items from forests. To create awareness about the benefits to health. Bastar Food Firm is providing livelihood opportunities to the tribal community and women are becoming self-reliant through women empowerment.
