Raipur: Women need to be aware of constitutional and legal rights to prevent crime against women – Dr. Nayak

Raipur 06 August 2021. Chhattisgarh State Commission for Women today organized a webinar with the girl students of Nursing College, Raipur on the topic ‘Gender Harassment at Workplace’. State Women’s Commission Chairperson Dr. Kiranmayi Nayak told the girls that the first webinar has been organized in Chhattisgarh today under the webinar series sponsored by the National Commission for Women. Through this, women will be made aware of their constitutional and legal rights.
Explaining gender harassment in simple language, he said that any person trying to come near or touch unnecessarily women, giving job, money or any other temptation etc. has been kept in the category of harassment. Similarly, showing obscene comedy or messaging etc. comes under the category of gender harassment. Women in the office can complain in this regard to the Internal Complaints Committee. He said that the formation of internal complaints committee should be mandatory in nursing and other institutions in all office places. NGOs can also be involved in this. Where it has been constituted. Flex board should be made there and installed in the office. He told that the National Commission for Women has asked the Chhattisgarh State Commission for Women to organize 14 webinars. In this webinar Advocate Ms. Shamim Rehman, Forensic Expert Dr. Sunanda Dhenge, DIG Police Headquarters Raipur Ms. Himani Khanna, Joint Director Directorate of Women and Child Development Department Mrs. C.S. Lal was the keynote speaker. Speaker Dr. Kiranmayi Nayak and speakers gave guidance by answering the questions of the nursing students.
