Ganesh Chaturthi festival is coming, in such a situation, women of self-help group associated with RIPA are making beautiful and attractive idol of Lord Ganesha. Ganesh Chaturthi is celebrated with great pomp throughout the country and Lord Ganesha is present in homes and pandals for 10 days. On the occasion of festival, there is a demand for Lord Ganesha idol in large numbers. Ganesh idol of Ripa Mendrakala of Ambikapur district is being made by the productive group workers and women of Shakti group. Women said that in view of the festival, there is a huge demand for making Ganesh idols. Till now we have sold idols worth Rs 7000. The demand is so high that people are ordering the idol in advance. Women of self-help groups told that Ganesh idols are being sold by setting up stalls in the cities.
Chhattisgarh government is making meaningful efforts to connect youth and women with industry by making them skilled through RIPA. Even on the occasion of Rakshabandhan festival, women made beautiful and attractive Rakhis and sold them, which earned them good income.
