The ‘Gaj Yatra’ chariot was flagged off by MP Smt. Jyotsna Charan Das Mahant under the Elephant-Human Conflict Awareness Program from Buka Tourism Center of Etmanagar forest range under Katghora forest division of the state and started the program of Wildlife Conservation Week. Went.
Special guest MLA Mr. Mohit Ram Kerketta, MLA Pali Tanakhar Mr. Harish Parsai, members Food Commission Mr. Asraf Memon and Mr. Manoj Chauhan, Ms. Usha Tiwari, Sarpanch and public representatives were present in the program. The program started in a very captivating manner with the presentation of folk artists.
It is noteworthy that under the guidance of Forest and Climate Change Minister Shri Mohammad Akbar, the department is continuously running a public awareness campaign to control human-elephant conflict. In this coordination, Principal Chief Conservator of Forest and Chief of Forest Force Shri V. Under the guidance of Srinivas Rao, the above program was successfully organized under Katghora Forest Division on the occasion of Wildlife Conservation Week.
On this occasion, MP Mrs. Mahant, while addressing a large number of villagers from nearby areas, informed them about the public welfare schemes of the Chhattisgarh government. He said that Chhattisgarh government is with the villagers of elephant affected villages in every situation to overcome their problems. The MLA and member Food Commission also addressed the program.
It was told in the program that companionship is necessary for every living creature in nature. Therefore, we all should participate in their conservation and promotion. On this occasion, detailed information about Gaj Yatra Rath and Wildlife Conservation Week was given by Divisional Forest Officer, Katghora, Shri Kumar Nishant. He told that Gaj Yatra Rath will tour the elephant affected areas of the entire Katghora forest division and make the villagers aware about elephant protection through films, folk songs and projectors. In this, publicity will be given mainly by going to market places and schools, so that human-elephant conflict can be reduced.
The villagers appreciated the campaign being run by the Forest Department to create awareness in all the elephant affected villages through Hathi Yatra Rath. A large number of villagers including Deputy Forest Divisional Officer Mr. Chandrakant Tikaria, Range Officer Atmanagar Mr. Dashhans Prasad Suryavanshi were present in the program.
