The newly admitted students of academic session 2021-22 at the State Institute of Hotel Management, Catering Technology and Applied Nutrition, located at Uparwara, Nava Raipur, were welcomed with various cultural programs in the fresher’s party organized today. In this program, the students of the institute gave a beautiful cultural performance including fashion show, Chhattisgarhi folk dance, songs, music, dance and other beautiful cultural performances. In which Miss Fresher Simon Joshi, Mr Fresher Karan Kumar, Miss Senior Janhvi Rai, Mr Senior Sheikh Altmash, Miss Invet Simran Rauthor and Mr Invet Kunal were selected. In this program Chief Guest Mr. Anbalgan P. Secretary, Tourism Department and Dr. Priyanka Shukla, Special Secretary, Health and Family Welfare Department, Mrs. Rekha Shukla, Principal and Nodal Officer Mr. Mayank Kumar Gupta were present as special guest. The program started with the Raj Geet of Chhattisgarh and Mr. Ambalgan P., Dr. Priyanka Shukla and Mrs. Rekha Shukla delivered the speech. The program was conducted by Mrs. Anuradha Dubey, Public Relations Officer, Chhattisgarh Tourism Board, Raipur.
It is to be known that by providing training to the educated youth in the field of hospitality, various courses are being conducted by the institute with the aim of providing workforce to the hotel business of the state. National Council for Hotel Management Council ( NCHMCT) to conduct the degree and diploma courses of the institute.) was granted affiliation/accreditation on 09 September 2020. In the academic session 2021-22, 43 students in Bachelor of Science (Hospitality and Hotel Administration) course, 32 students in Diploma in Food Production course, 27 students in Diploma in Food and Beverage Service course, 17 students in Diploma in Housekeeping course including total 119 students have taken admission. The students enrolled in the institute include 113 students from different districts of the state under DMF funds, whose tuition and hostel fees are being borne by the state government. Presently degree and 03 diploma courses are run in the institute, in which total 128 students are studying. At the end of the program vote of thanks was given by Mr. Mayank Kumar Gupta, Nodal Officer.
