Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel today attended the state level weavers’ conference organized by Chhattisgarh Weavers Shilpi Sangh at Sardar Balbir Singh Juneja Stadium in the capital Raipur. Chief Minister Mr. Baghel said that the weavers society is a very hardworking and enterprising society. This society is carrying forward the work of spinning thread and weaving cloth from generation to generation. We have not forgotten the skills that our ancestors have taught us. Today people are getting disillusioned with mechanical products. People are returning to handmade, pure and reliable products. The demand for natural things instead of artificial things is increasing. This is a good opportunity for our traditional entrepreneurs, this opportunity should be taken advantage of.
Chief Minister Mr. Baghel said that in the last five years, we have taken all necessary steps from training of weaver brothers to cooperation in production and providing market for their products. We have continuously worked to make the dreams of Mahatma Gandhi come true in Chhattisgarh. In these five years, we have created such a strong infrastructure for the development of weaving, whose benefits will continue to accrue for many years to come. Due to this, employment opportunities will be created on a large scale in the field of weaving. I appeal to the people of the weaving community to take forward this traditional profession with a new approach in line with the new times. Our government stands with you at every step.
Chief Minister Mr. Baghel said that even today Chhattisgarh is at the forefront in the country in terms of cocoon production. The demand for the clothes made here is even abroad. The quality of our silk clothes has no match anywhere. Today our children are understanding the market better by studying. The new generation of enterprising children are making various innovations in the print and design of clothes. They are also getting the benefit of this. He said that the weaving community should carry forward their ancestral business with a new perspective. Our government will help you completely.
Chief Minister Mr. Baghel said that today, Dantewada’s Danex factory is a successful example in front of us that if we do our work with a modern approach, many doors of new possibilities will open for us in the field of cloth manufacturing as well. One of the goals of Suraji Gaon Yojana is also to promote traditional business and local production. Our government has started the RIPA scheme only to take forward the entrepreneurs like weavers, craftsmen, artisans. Traditional entrepreneurship is being encouraged by setting up 300 industrial parks in urban and rural areas.
Chief Minister Mr. Baghel said that we have established C-Marts at various places. These are markets where only local products are sold. Along with preserving the forests of Chhattisgarh, our government is also working to promote silk production through silkworm rearing. Our government has now given the status of farming to silkworm rearing. This will increase the production of silk in Chhattisgarh. Silk will be easily available to our weaver brothers. The production of silk clothes will also increase.
