Raipur, 22 June 2021. Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has said that under the Suraji Gaon Yojana, the vermicompost and super compost manure being produced by women self-help groups in the Gauthans of villages has high biological characteristics. Its quality is better than the organic manure produced by reputed companies of the country. The Chief Minister said that a reputed company of the country is selling organic manure for Rs 64 per kg, while we are providing good quality organic manure to the farmers of the state at 6 to 10 times cheaper rate than theirs. The Chief Minister said that in the state of Chhattisgarh, cow vermi compost is being given only at Rs.10 per kg and Godhan super-compost at Rs.6 per kg. Its availability has been ensured in co-operative societies. Arrangements have also been made to make available organic fertilizers from cooperative societies to farmer brothers in the form of agricultural credit inputs.
Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel said that vermicompost and super compost are being manufactured on a large scale in the Gauthans of the state from the cow dung being purchased under the Godhan Nyay Yojana. Its objective is to provide employment to the sisters of women self-help groups, as well as to provide organic fertilizers to the farmers at affordable rates, to promote organic farming in the state and to reduce the dependence of farmers on chemical fertilizers. The Chief Minister said that he had regular talks with his farmer brothers. Farmers have appreciated the quality of organic manure manufactured in Gauthans and also told that its use has also increased the agricultural production. He said that now the farmers of the state have started knowing and understanding about the benefits of organic manure. He is also using it with enthusiasm in farming.
The Chief Minister further said that Vermi and Super Compost produced in Gauthans is a better alternative to chemical fertilizer DAP, Urea. Deficiency of DAP and Urea can be met by using it. He said that DAP and Urea are not being supplied by the Government of India as per the demand of the State for Kharif Season 2021. In such a situation, this deficiency can be filled by using vermi compost and super compost. The Chief Minister said that so far about 5 lakh quintals of Vermi Compost and 2 lakh quintals of Super Compost have been produced in Gauthans. In a few days, about 6 lakh quintals of organic manure will be ready.
