Raipur, 26 March 2021. Director of Water Life Mission, S. A meeting with the central team was held today at Neer Bhawan in the capital under the chairmanship of Prakash. The meeting reviewed the works of the Water Life Mission operated in the state. During the meeting, the members of the central team informed that the work conducted under the Water Life Mission in Chhattisgarh is going on a mission mode, it will produce better results in a few days. The works of the Water Life Mission in Chhattisgarh have been appreciated by the Central Team from Delhi. In Chhattisgarh, the villagers took stock of the ground conditions of the water life mission being done to increase drinking water facilities. The central team visited Raipur, Durg and Mahasamund districts from 23 to 26 March and inspected the works of the Water Life Mission and interacted with the villagers. It is noteworthy that the six-member Central team held Raipur from 23 March to 26 March,
During the meeting, Mr. Manoj Gupta, Senior Infrastructure Specialist, presented the team’s findings on the works conducted under the mission of Jal Jeevan. He informed that the villagers are benefiting from solar based water supply scheme. He informed that necessary steps need to be taken to fix the time for the water supply from the solar pump to the tank and to save the waste water from the overflow of the tank. Ms. Spoorthy Kollipka, Drinking Water Advisor, said that there is a lot of awareness among women self-help groups in Durg district. These groups need to be linked to the water committee. Rural infrastructure expert Mr. Eklavya Mishra gave detailed information about the works of the Fluoride Removal Plant set up in the district. All the members of the central team were also satisfied with the Village Action Plan, District Action Plan and NABL operated in the districts.
On this occasion, Public Health Engineering Chief Engineer Shri T.G. Ms. Shweta Patnaik UNICEF was present along with the Chief Engineer of Kosria, Raipur, Bilaspur and Jagdalpur Zone, Executive Engineer of Raipur, Durg and Mahasamund.
