Hemchand Yadav University Durg organized an online workshop on “Water Conservation – Catch the Rain”

Raipur, 17 May 2021. Governor Ms. Anusuiya Uike, while addressing the online workshop organized on the topic of “Catch the Rain” organized under the auspices of Hemchand Yadav University Durg today, said that our mystics had understood the importance of water conservation a long time ago, So he created an enlightening beautiful couplet that is still contemporary today. Rahiman pani rakhiye, bin pani sabhi soon loin, pani gaya na bo bora, pearl, manush, choon ‘. Therefore, we all want that we do not waste water in vain. Use limited amount of water.

He said that our former Prime Minister had envisaged a river joint campaign to store rainwater, which was a wonderful project for the country. He said that if we look into the world in the first decade of the 21st century, then the truth emerges that in this decade the whole of humanity is struggling with many natural disasters. Sometimes snowfall, floods, storms, earthquakes, epidemics and water crisis have plagued the whole humanity. Water scarcity is emerging as the biggest crisis facing the growing population. This is the result of continuous messing with the environment that today the whole world is going through the crisis of lack of sufficient clean water. India is currently going through a severe water crisis for agricultural use and drinking water and this crisis is clearly visible on a global level as well.

Governor Ms. Anusuiya Uike said that to overcome the water crisis, we have to consider three levels – first, how did we use water till now? Second, how to do in the future? And third, what steps should be taken to conserve water? If we look at the whole situation, this picture emerges that till now we did not use water in a disciplined manner and did excessive water loss. It is true that water is a precious resource that nature has given as a gift to man. Water is important for all flora and fauna. All aquatic organisms need water to live.

He said that water is an important resource that must be saved. We should not waste water. We should use water judiciously.

He said that due to our apathy in the field of water management, the fact that people are migrating not only for bread but also for water can not be denied. Today, due to the pressure of cutting forests and increasing pollution day by day, the whole nature of sun and rain has deteriorated due to the distorted nature of nature. Water is the basis of prosperity of man and nature, but at the beginning of the modern era, we started ignoring the importance of water, due to which the ponds, lakes, rivers, etc. have dried up and a huge water crisis has arisen in the country. It is said that water is life. If water is life, then of course it is precious and such precious thing is also valued. We always get water, Rainwater harvesting is necessary for this. Because of the tremendous exploitation of ground water, the water level is constantly going down. This is causing shortage of drinking water. On the other hand, the rain water gets washed away like this, while it can be saved and used throughout the year. This will reduce the use of underground water and save it.

Governor Ms. Uike said that saving water is important for all of us. It is the responsibility of the educated people that we should motivate our students and the people around them for this work by showing the importance of water conservation. Our Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has used the term “catch the rain” which means rain water harvesting. He said that we all have an obligation to install rain water harvesting system in our educational institutions and residences.

Governor Ms. Uike appealed to make arrangements for rain water harvesting in their educational institutions before the rainy season. I urge everyone that just as Shri Rajendra Singh has presented a unique example of conserving water in drought prone Rajasthan state, similarly we all can increase the ground water level by continuously falling in every region of our state. make every effort.

The Governor said that the N.S.S. It is the responsibility of Swayamsevaks and other students to make people aware about water conservation in villages, cities and nearby areas in their neighborhoods. This work can be done through banners, posters, slogans and after lockdown, keeping in mind the social distancing. Educational institutions can also organize various competitions online for water conservation awareness. This can make a large group of students aware.

Governor Ms. Uike said that wherever you need water, use only that much water. He appealed to stop the waste of water.

The Governor said that we should pledge to take all possible measures to conserve water in our daily lives without being limited to thoughts in the workshop for only one day. We have to understand the importance of every drop of water. Usually we find that if we have sufficient amount of water, then we become careless and if there is a shortage of water, we conserve. Whereas it should always conserve water. We should adopt small habits in life. Take a pledge to conserve water, remember that drop-by-water conservation will work as energy for the future. He said that the best use of Kovid-19 transition period and lockdown for the last one and a half months has been organized by Hemchand Yadav University online program. He appealed to get a vaccine for Corona to be saved.

On this occasion, Mr. Rajendra Singh, internationally renowned and known as “Waterman of India” in the online workshop, Mr. Dhananjay Dewangan, Secretary, Higher Education Department, Dr. Mrs. Aruna Palta, Vice Chancellor of the University, and related departments Officers of the meeting were present.
