Raipur, 25 January 2021. On the occasion of National Voters’ Day, Chhattisgarh Public Commission Chief Lokayukta Justice Shri TP Sharma said that voters should recognize the value of their vote and choose a candidate of character. He asked the voters to use 100 per cent of their franchise and vote fearlessly without any pressure and temptation. Mr. Sharma distributed voter ID cards (EPIC cards) to new voters. He told the voters that voters use the EPIC card only for identification, but must use it for whom it is found. He congratulated the officials and employees associated with the election for successfully conducting the Marwahi Assembly by-election in Kovid period. Shri Sharma said that when officers and employees associated with elections are determined to conduct elections in difficult circumstances, So we should also be determined to use our vote. The message of the Chief Election Commissioner of the Election Commission of India was also heard on the occasion.

On the occasion of National Voters’ Day, Chief Lokayukta Shri Sharma administered the oath to the voters. He vowed to the voters, ‘We citizens of India, keeping our full faith in democracy that we will uphold the dignity of democratic traditions of our country, and keeping the dignity of free, fair and peaceful elections intact, fearless religion, Pledged to exercise his franchise in all elections without being influenced by any temptation of class, caste, community, language or any other.

 

The Chief Lokayukta lit the lamp in the auditorium of Indira Gandhi Agricultural College and launched National Voters’ Day. Prior to this, Shri Sharma visited the Voter Awareness Exhibition organized here and EVM And V.V.P.A.T. Become aware of the working of the machine. Mr. Sharma distributed state level awards for outstanding work related to elections. On this occasion, Commissioner of State Election Commission Shri Thakur Ram Singh said that the qualities of India’s democracy are not found anywhere in the world. Here the government falls on one vote and becomes a government on one vote. He said that voting is a direct right. No one can stop the franchise. He said that being a voter is also not enough, but it is also important to know and understand how to vote. Voting awareness is being made aware through the voter awareness exhibition.

 

Describing the importance of Voter ID, Dr. SK Patil, Vice Chancellor of Indira Gandhi Agricultural University said that the price and duty of Voter ID must be discharged. He said that he got new information regarding electronic voting in the Voter Awareness Exhibition. Chief Electoral Officer Chhattisgarh Smt Reena Baba Kangale said that we are celebrating the 11th birth anniversary of the national festival dedicated to democracy today. It has been started since 2011 on the establishment day of the Election Commission of India. It aims to empower, alert, secure and aware voters. On this occasion, service voters and Air Force personnel were also welcomed with floral clusters.

 

State level awards have also been distributed on the occasion of National Voters’ Day. Under this, one ERO from each division of the state. And A.E.R.O. 7500 was awarded with cash prize. One assistant programmer from each division was awarded Rs. 6000. In the year 2020, the Durg district was awarded Rs 10 thousand for the outstanding work in editing the electoral work and in the year 2020, Sarguja district was awarded Rs 10 thousand for the outstanding work in the implementation of the sweep work. For excellent work in election, Deputy District Election Officer Gorella-Pendra-Marwahi and Lecturer, Government Higher Secondary School, Kalharakatta District Bastar, seven and a half thousand and to prepare the best creative slogan, Patwari of Baikunthpur Tehsil of Korea district, seven and a half thousand Was rewarded with money.
