Raipur: Vice Chancellors should ensure better education in universities: Governor

Governor Mr. Vishwabhushan Harichandan took detailed information about the activities, problems etc. of the universities of the state from the vice-chancellors of various government and private universities of the state. He inquired about NAAC grading of universities, number of teachers in universities, number of enrolled students etc. He directed the Vice-Chancellors to take all possible measures to provide quality education to the students in the universities. Along with this, he also instructed the Secretary to the Governor Mr. Amrit Kumar Khalkho to organize the convocation ceremonies in the universities soon after taking information about the pending convocations of various universities. He said that the convocation, It is an important stage in the life of the students. This affects the future of the students. Convocation should be organized on time so that there is no loss in their education and career.

Governor Mr. Harichandan said that reports should be sent to him through Raj Bhavan Secretariat regarding the problems etc. of the universities so that these problems could be resolved through coordination with the state government. He asked to prepare an action plan regarding the upcoming convocation and send it to the Raj Bhavan Secretariat.

During the meeting, the Vice-Chancellor of Pt. Ravi Shankar University gave information about the academic activities of the university and told that the convocation ceremony is proposed this month. Thereafter, Governor Mr. Harichandan asked the Vice-Chancellor of Indira Gandhi Agricultural University to make special efforts in the direction of taking the benefits of agricultural research to the farmers. Along with this, he also asked to take measures in the direction of increasing the interest of the students towards agriculture education.
