Raipur: Vice Chancellor Dr. Chandel attended the meeting of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research and the workshop of Krishi Vigyan Kendras of Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh.

University, Raipur, Mr. Matheswaran V., Director Horticulture and Field Forestry Department and Mr. Bijnoriya, Deputy Director Agriculture, Government of Chhattisgarh participated. In this meeting, Dr. Chandel presented the details of the education, research and extension activities of the university and highlighted the research needs of the state. Dr. Chandel demanded approval of 12 research projects in Chhattisgarh such as home science, energy agriculture, plastic culture engineering, cotton, sesame and niger, biofertilizer, cold climate fruits and pesticides, residue testing. These research projects will be implemented in various research centers of Chhattisgarh. Demanded regularization of ad-hoc research project of groundnut, tropical fruits, flowers, sugarcane, onion and biocontrol and approval of posts of scientists. Indira Gandhi Agricultural University, Raipur proposes to establish Krishi Vigyan Kendras in the newly formed districts of the state, Sarangarh-Bilaigarh, Manpur-Mohla-Ambagadchoki, Manendragarh-Chirmiri-Bharatpur, Gaurela-Pendra-Marwahi, Khairagarh-Chhuikhadan-Gandai and Shakti India have been sent to the Government. Present in the meeting, Dr. Himanshu Pathak, Director General, Indian Council of Agricultural Research assured the acceptance of new Krishi Vigyan Kendras and new research projects.
