Raipur, 23 October 2020. For successful implementation of Chhattisgarh Government’s ambitious Godhan Nyaya Yojana, cow dung is purchased in the Guthans and at the same time women self-help groups are being trained to produce vermi manure. Under the guidance of the officers of the Women Self-Help Group, the Agriculture Department is engaged in the preparation of vermicompost by performing cow dung stuffing in vermi stitches. In Sukma district of remote Vananchal, the Agriculture Department is imparting training to self-help groups working in all the Gothans of the district including vermicomposting and other income oriented activities. The department is mainly imparting training to the Varmi compost production, mushroom production, poultry farming etc. In Sukma district, about 690 vermi stitches have been constructed in the Gouthans built under Suraji scheme.
Deputy Director of Agriculture Department informed that the work of filling of vermi stitches has been started by self-help groups to make vermicompost from cow dung. The women of the group are being trained by the Agriculture Department to prepare standard level vermicompost. So far, the work of cow dung has been completed in 258 Vermi stitches in the Gothans of the district.
