So far more than 34 thousand students have been benefitted through 509 camps

In Chhattisgarh, state-wide training cum awareness camps are being organized by the CAMPA Authority under the Forest Department to create awareness among school children about forest conservation. Under this, a total of 509 camps have been organized in the state till the month of January 2023 through Van Mitan Jagruti Program. Through these camps, a total of 34 thousand 476 people, including 2 thousand 357 teachers, 15 thousand 824 boys and 16 thousand 295 girl students, have been made aware of forests through various activities.
It is worth noting that as the first step of participation in forest management, training cum awareness has an important role regarding the importance of forest, wildlife and environment. In this context, with the aim of making the students of the schools near the forest areas participate in the management of forests, according to the intention of the Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel, under the guidance of the Forest Minister Mr. Mohammad Akbar, the CAMPA authority continues to organize awareness camps. Through this, students from class 6th to 12th are being made aware for forest conservation. So that they adopt responsible behavior towards the environment and sensitivity towards nature conservation can automatically develop in them. Under this, a total of 624 camps are to be organized in 43 forest divisions of the state.
Under the programme, importance of bio-diversity and forestry works and introduction of trees and plants and ecosystem, role of forests, soil, root system and components of trees and herbal medicines are being given by visiting nature. Identification of wild animals and their habits, information related to food, body structure, identification of insects and moths, identification of reptiles, information related to signs of wild animals and importance of wild animals in the ecosystem, etc. are being given. Along with this, information about the importance of various living beings in human life etc. is also being given. Awareness about forests has increased among school children by organizing awareness camps.
