Governor attended the second convocation of Amity University
Gold medal given to 22 meritorious students

Governor Shri Vishwabhushan Harichandan attended the second convocation ceremony of Amity University today as the chief guest. He called upon the students to take a pledge to fully utilize their knowledge for the benefit of the society and humanity as a whole. He said that students have to work for the poor and deprived people of the society.
In the convocation ceremony held at Pt. Deendayal Upadhyay Auditorium, Governor Shri Harichandan awarded gold medals to 22 meritorious students, silver medals to 16 and bronze medals to 5. In the ceremony, graduation and post-graduation degrees were distributed to 681 students of the year 2023 batch. Dr. Himanshu Pathak, Secretary, DARE and Director General, Department of Agricultural Research and Education, New Delhi, was awarded honorary doctorate degree by the University. The program was presided over by Deputy Chief Minister Shri Arun Sao.
On this occasion, the Governor said that this day of convocation is an important phase in the life of the students. Everyone has worked hard to gain knowledge in their subjects. He expressed confidence that more than the degrees, the knowledge and values he has acquired here will guide him throughout his life. The Governor said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, India has emerged as one of the fastest growing economies of the world. Today, the perception of India in the eyes of the world has changed significantly; a positive attitude has emerged towards mutual cooperation with many countries. The youth of this country are going to be the harbingers of the growth of our economy and overall development of the nation. The Governor said that only through value-based education, creativity, innovation, research and development in every subject of life, we can bring positive change in the society and solve many problems including poverty, diseases, unemployment, hunger and environmental challenges. The Governor said that it is a matter of pride that in the last few years, higher education institutions in India have made continuous efforts to find a place among the best institutions in the world. The academic curriculum should be dynamic, it should be at par with the best institutions in the world and should be industry-centric and research oriented. The government has launched ‘Start-up India’ campaign to finance and promote entrepreneurship and job creation. The Governor urged the students to become entrepreneurs.
In his address, Deputy Chief Minister Shri Arun Sao urged the students not to limit themselves to setting a goal and achieving it, but to keep the sky open for themselves and fly high. Fulfill your dreams with hard work and dedication.
The ceremony was inaugurated by the Chairman of Chhattisgarh Private University Regulatory Commission, Prof. Colonel Umesh Kumar Mishra also addressed. Chancellor Dr. W. Selvamurthy presented the report of the university.
On this occasion, Founder President of the University Dr. Ashok K Chauhan, President Dr. Asim K Chauhan, Vice Chancellor Dr. Piyush Kant Pandey, faculty members, deans, professors, students and their families were also present.
