Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel today gifted development works worth Rs 866 crore to Kanker district in the “Urban Bodies and Panchayati Raj Mahasammelan” organized on October 06 at Govindpur Sports Ground in district headquarters Kanker. Mrs. Priyanka Gandhi attended the program as a special guest.

These development works include Bhoomi Pujan of 277 construction works worth Rs 550.13 crore and inauguration of 241 works worth Rs 316.03 crore. Also, in the program, materials worth about Rs 5.78 crore were distributed to 12 thousand 730 beneficiaries of the district under various schemes. Among the works to be inaugurated in the Mahasammelan, bhumi pujan of 120 works at a cost of Rs 84.22 crore and 86 construction works worth Rs 261.61 crore were inaugurated under Antagarh assembly constituency. Similarly, under Bhanupratappur assembly constituency, bhumi pujan of 103 works costing a total of Rs 427.46 crore and inauguration of 91 works costing Rs 36.73 crore was done.

Apart from this, Chief Minister Mr. Baghel performed Bhoomi Pujan of 54 construction works costing Rs 38.43 crore and inaugurated 64 construction works costing Rs 17.67 crore under Kanker Assembly constituency. These construction works mainly include hostel building, road, bridge-culvert, Devguri, fair price shop cum warehouse, waiting room, Anganwadi building, Muktidham, Ghotul, community toilet, seed processing unit, community and social building, tap water supply scheme. This includes construction of additional rooms, market shed construction, theater including auditorium etc. In the “Urban Bodies and Panchayati Raj Mahasammelan”, the Chief Minister and other guests distributed materials, loan approval sheets, checks, grants, forest rights recognition letters, etc. worth Rs 5.78 crore to a total of 12 thousand 730 beneficiaries under the beneficiary-oriented schemes of various departments.
