Raipur, 28 August 2021. The Union Minister, Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Government of India, Shri Arjun Munda called on Governor Ms. Anusuiya Uikey at Raj Bhavan here today. The Governor discussed in detail with the Union Minister about the schemes and programs related to the interests of the tribals. Ms. Uike said that the tribals who have got forest rights lease are not eligible for Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi. Specially for these, the Prime Minister Vanvasi Kisan Samman Nidhi can be started. He said that tribals should be given the benefit of the most important schemes of the Central Government, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, Food Security Scheme and Ayushman Bharat Yojana, many needy forest dwellers are left out when they take Socio Economic Survey or any other data. A new scheme may be considered in this regard.
Governor said that some Scheduled Tribes of Chhattisgarh State are facing difficulty in getting caste certificate due to quantitative errors and they are not getting the benefits of government schemes. A proposal has been sent by the Chhattisgarh government regarding these reforms and its recommendation has also been sent by the Director General of Census and Scheduled Tribes Commission. The Bill is yet to be presented and passed by the Central Tribal Department in this regard. He urged for early action in this regard, so that the eligible tribals here can get the benefits of the schemes and their standard of living can be elevated.
The Governor said that in lieu of land to be acquired for excavation projects to be set up in private and government sectors, discussing about making Bhumiswami a shareholder in the dividend of those projects, said that this would give relief to the tribals. The people of the tribal society have to fulfill their emergent needs by selling their property in adverse situations (illness, marriage, emergency situation), but according to the rules, they can sell their property only to the tribal member, so that they The expected value is not found. It is necessary to solve this problem.
He said that in four districts of Purvanchal of Uttar Pradesh, Chandauli, Kushinagar, Sant Kabir Nagar, Sant Ravidas Nagar, people of tribal society have been residing since years. Earlier, the districts in which they were there were Scheduled Tribes districts, but after becoming a separate district, they were not included in the tribal districts, due to which they are not getting the benefit of tribal reservation and other facilities. These districts are to be declared as Scheduled Tribal Areas.
The Union Minister presented a product based on forest produce made by self-help groups to the Governor as a gift. The Union Minister congratulated the Governor on receiving the National Award for the Van Dhan Vikas Kendras of Chhattisgarh. On this occasion, TRIFED MD. Shri Praveer Krishna and Shri Anil Kumar were present on the occasion.
