State Agricultural Management and Extension Training Institute (SAMETI) completed in Labhandi

Under the National Horticulture Mission scheme, according to the intention of the state government, along with agriculture, area expansion and production of horticulture crops is to be increased. Under this scheme, a team of 443 member farmers of Mungeli district, from January 30 to February 1, February 2 to 4, February 6 to 8, February 9 to 11, February 20 to 22 and February 23 to February 25, 2023 State Agriculture Management and Visited Extension Training Institute (Sameti) Labhandi Raipur to get training and also learned how to do farming with new technology.
Farmers of Mungeli district have developed techniques related to horticulture crops (fruits and vegetables), integrated pest management, knowledge of disease prevention, seed production, techniques, cultivation of multi-year vegetables, flower production techniques and possibilities, mushroom production, tuber classification. Took information about the machines used in the cultivation of vegetables and horticulture. Along with this, the farmers were also visited the tissue culture laboratory of Indira Gandhi Agricultural University, center of excellence, protected cultivation field, Krishi Vigyan Kendra field and government seed yard field, Bana. Scientists of Indira Gandhi Agricultural University, subject experts of Krishi Vigyan Kendra and officials of the institute gave technical information to the farmers on the above subjects.
14 women and 55 men of Baiga tribe of Jheria village of Lormi block of Mungeli district received training during the tour from 23rd to 25th February. The farmers who came on the excursion tour appreciated this new technique of the state government and talked about adopting it. Re-evaluation and certificates were distributed to the farmers by the State Agricultural Management and Extension Training Institute.
