Under the Godhan Nyaya Yojana run by the Government of Chhattisgarh, Brahmastra is being manufactured and sold by the women of self-help groups in village Bhiraud and village Potgaon of Kanker district. Due to this, both the groups have earned an income of more than three lakh 55 thousand rupees.
It is worth mentioning that under the Godhan Nyaya Yojana in the state of Chhattisgarh, cow dung is being procured at the rate of Rs.2 per kg and cow urine at the rate of Rs.4 per kg. Organic insecticide Brahmastra and crop enhancer Jeevamrut are being prepared from cow dung, vermicompost and cow urine in Gauthans so that along with promoting organic farming in the state, the use of chemical fertilizers and pesticides can be reduced and farming can be made profitable.
Cow urine is being procured in Potgaon of Kanker development block and Bhiraud Gauthan of Charama development block under the Godhan Nyaya Yojana. In Potgaon Gauthan, 3634 liters of Brahmastra was prepared by the women of Shiva self-help group by purchasing 7268 liters of cow urine, selling which earned an income of Rs 01 lakh 81 thousand 700. Similarly, 3869 liters of Brahmastra has been prepared so far by purchasing 8337 liters of cow urine in Bhiraud Gauthan of Charama development block, out of which an income of Rs 01 lakh 73 thousand 450 was earned by selling 3469 liters of Brahmastra.
