In the Chhattisgarh Vidhansabha, tributes were paid to late Shri Puneet Ram Sahu and late Shri Radheshyam Sharma, former members of undivided Madhya Pradesh Vidhansabha today. At the commencement of the proceedings of the House, the Speaker of the Legislative Assembly, Dr. Charandas Mahant, gave an introduction to the lives of both the late members of the undivided Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly and threw light on their personality and works.
Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel while paying tribute to late Mr. Punitram Sahu said that late Mr. Sahu, rich in easy-going personality, was elected MLA from Rajim assembly from year 1985 to 1990. He was very popular in his area, he became the President of the Cooperative Society in 1970, Panch-Sarpanch and was also the President of Fingeshwar Janpad Panchayat. He remained active till the last moment. His death is an irreparable loss for the state. Paying tribute to Late Shri Radheshyam Sharma, the Chief Minister said that he played a big role in social work while being active in public life. From the year 1993 to the year 1998, he was elected MLA from Bhatapara assembly constituency. He was recognized as a farmer and cooperative leader. In the Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly, he worked in several committees including the Chairman. Chairman of NABARD, Vice President of Madhya Pradesh Kisan Congress, President of Raipur District Cooperative Land Development Bank, member of IFFCO and KRIBHCO, selected representative of National Cooperative Union of India etc. had deep experience of working on many posts. He used to speak with impunity and used to raise issues related to the general public. He also drew attention towards the problems of former MLAs.
Expressing his condolences to the families of both the late personalities, the Chief Minister prayed to God for the peace of their souls. Leader of Opposition Mr. Narayan Chandel and MLA Mr. Shivratan Sharma also paid tributes to the deceased. Tributes were paid to the departed by keeping silence for two minutes in the House.
