Raipur: Tribute paid to the late politicians and martyrs of Kargil war in Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly

Raipur, 26 July 2021. On the first day of the Monsoon Session of the Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly, today, in the House, a humble tribute was paid to the late former members of Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly, undivided Madhya Pradesh Vidhan Sabha, Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha. On the commencement of the proceedings of the House, Speaker of the Assembly Dr. Charandas Mahant, former member of Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly Mr. Gulab Singh, former member of undivided Madhya Pradesh Vidhan Sabha Mr. Somprakash Giri, Mr. Balaram Verma and Mr. Balram Singh Bais, former Lok Sabha MP Mrs. Karuna Shukla and Mr. Khelan Ram. Jangde, former Deputy Speaker of Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly, Mr. Badridhar Dewan, former Minister of State for Government of Chhattisgarh, Dr. Shakrajit Nayak, former Rajya Sabha member Mr. Ramadhar Kashyap, while informing about his death, paid tribute to him by remembering his personality and work. Humble tributes were also paid to the martyrs of Kargil war in the House. Two minutes silence was observed in the house in honor of the departed.
Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel paid tribute to the departed leaders in the House, remembering their personality and work. He said that the death of these leaders has caused irreparable loss to the state and the society. Shri Baghel also paid homage to the soldiers martyred in the Kargil War on Kargil Vijay Diwas today while paying homage to them. Chief Minister Mr. Baghel while paying tribute to Mr. Gulab Singh, a former member of Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly said that he started his public life as a student leader. He was elected member of Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly in the year 1998 and 2003. I also got the opportunity to work with him. He was always active for the development of his field. He died at the age of just 53. He played a role in the formation of the state of Chhattisgarh. He was also a member of various committees of the Legislative Assembly. His death has caused an irreparable loss to the state. Paying homage to Shri Somprakash Giri, a former member of the undivided Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly, the Chief Minister said that we know him as a militant leader. He had a special interest in social work. He represented the Kurud region. Despite not being an MLA, he continued to be active in his public life. We got an opportunity to learn a lot from him. Paying tribute to former member of undivided Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly, Shri Balaram Verma, the Chief Minister said that we knew him as a social worker. they are gentle, He was a simple and friendly politician. He was elected a member of the undivided Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly. Paying tribute to former Lok Sabha MP Smt. Karuna Shukla, she said that she was elected MLA from Balodabazar Assembly Constituency. Later she was elected MP from Janjgir Lok Sabha constituency. He was born in the family of former Prime Minister Late Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee. She was a fluent speaker. He had mastery over the selection and pronunciation of words. Paying tribute to the former Deputy Speaker of Chhattisgarh Vidhan Sabha, Mr. Badridhar Dewan, Mr. Baghel said that he was the oldest member of the Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly. For a long time he worked in public life. In the year 1990, he was elected to the undivided Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly for the first time and after the formation of Chhattisgarh, he represented Beltara assembly constituency thrice. He was also elected Deputy Speaker of Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly twice. Paying tribute to Dr. Shakrajit Nayak, former Minister of State, Government of Chhattisgarh, the Chief Minister said that he was elected as the MLA of undivided Madhya Pradesh for the first time in 1990. He represented Raigad region several times. He was a conscious and vigilant public representative of his area. Paying tribute to Shri Ramadhar Kashyap, a former member of Rajya Sabha, the Chief Minister said that he was elected to the Rajya Sabha in the year 2002. He also contributed in the formation of Chhattisgarh state. Paying tribute to Shri Balram Singh Bais, former member of the undivided Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly, the Chief Minister said that he was simple, Sahaj and original Chhattisgarhia was a politician by nature. He was MLA three times. He was also the Vice President of Apex Bank Bhopal. Paying homage to former Lok Sabha MP Mr. Khelanram Jangde, Mr. Baghel said that he always raised the voice of the underprivileged and the poor in public life. He was elected MLA for the first time in the year 1980. Later he was also elected Lok Sabha MP from Bilaspur. He was also a member of Chhattisgarh Public Service Commission. He was a simple, easy going and friendly leader. Expressing his condolences to the families of the departed politicians, the Chief Minister prayed to God for the peace of the departed soul.
