Tribal students of Chhattisgarh visited the Parliament

Vice President of India, Shri Jagdeep Dhankhar has said that tribals are the pride of our country. Addressing the tribal students from Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh at his residence, the Vice President said, “I will tell you that you are the owners of this country. You are more connected to the ground than any other class.
140 tribal students from tribal dominated Bijapur, Sukma, Bastar, Dantewada, Kanker, Narayanpur and Rajnandgaon districts of Chhattisgarh and 60 students from Balaghat district of Madhya Pradesh met the Vice President today under the ‘Tribal Youth Exchange Programme’. Had reached his residence to meet him. This year, ‘Tribal Youth Exchange Programme’ programs are being organized in 25 major cities across the country. Each program has 200 participants. A program is also being held in Gurugram (Haryana) from January 15 to 21, 2024. The students participating in this program met the Vice President today. Tribal students from Chhattisgarh-Madhya Pradesh also visited the Parliament under the ‘Tribal Youth Exchange Programme’.
It is noteworthy that for the last 15 years, the Tribal Youth Exchange Program (JYM) has been being run by the Ministry of Home Affairs through the Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan (NHE) of the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports. In this program, tribal young men and women from remote and insurgency affected areas are taken on a tour to major cities across the country. The objectives of this program are mainly to increase the aspirations of the tribal youth, to make them aware of the country’s development activities, schemes and employment opportunities and to introduce them to the youth of other parts of the country.
Addressing the students, the Vice President said that the beginning of 2024 will be very fortunate for me, the Rajya Sabha family and the Vice President’s family because your footsteps have fallen here. Shri Dhankhar said that if you want to understand the strength of the tribe, its importance and talent then go to Rashtrapati Bhavan. Mrs. Draupadi Murmu, who belongs to the tribal community, is the President of India. India today is the world’s largest and most vibrant democracy, which is moving rapidly on the path of progress. Shri Dhankhar said that Tribal Pride Day is celebrated in the memory of Lord Birsa Munda. He said that today India is in Amrit Kaal. The world is amazed to see our progress. The Vice President told the students present that the responsibility of building a developed India rests on your strong shoulders. He wished all the students a very happy New Year.
