The history of tribal society is linked with the first footsteps of man on earth. Tribal culture has kept Lord Shri Ram in its heart. Lord Ram spent his exile in Chhattisgarh, it was here that he ate the leftover berries of Mother Shabari. The question of tribal identity is linked to the identity of India’s eternal tradition. Today our sister from the tribal community, Mrs. Draupadi Murmu, is occupying the highest post in India.

Chief Minister Shri Sai said that the tribal society is a culturally rich society. This society opposes bad practices openly. Remembering the contribution of tribal leaders in protecting the culture and independence of India, on the initiative of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, Tribal Pride Day was celebrated across the country from 13 to 15 November. The Chief Minister shared important information related to the traditions, culture, customs, festivals and schemes being run by the government for tribal upliftment.

Chief Minister Shri Sai said that the padyatra organized in Jashpur district on November 13 was so successful that the Prime Minister of the country Shri Narendra Modi openly praised it and described such events as important in the development and upliftment of the tribal society. He said that the national event organized on the occasion of Tribal Pride Day gave the tribal community from other states a wonderful opportunity to know and understand each other’s culture. He said that we are making our plans and policies to establish equality of opportunities in the plains and tribal areas so that every community of Chhattisgarh has equal opportunities for development and the tribal society can join the mainstream of the development of the whole India by winning over its natural and geographical complexities. When we protect the identity of the tribal communities, preserve and promote their culture, glorify their history and their heroes, then definitely the glory of Mother India will increase, her glory will be sung.

Through the Niyyad Nella Nar Yojana, a unique initiative has been taken to take the government schemes to remote areas. 34 new camps of security forces have been opened in the Bastar region and the villagers are getting the benefits of government schemes in about 96 villages.
