Raipur: Tree plantation will change the picture of villages and forests: Chief Minister Baghel: ‘Chief Minister’s Tree Plantation Promotion Scheme’ launched in the state

  Raipur, 06 June 2021. Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel formally launched the Chief Minister’s Tree Plantation Protsahan Yojana, being launched to protect the environment as well as increase the income of farmers, panchayats and forest committees. He said that this important scheme of the state government would definitely change the picture of villages and forests. This will give a new source of income to the farmers. Their financial condition will be strong. There will be greenery again in our villages. Mr. Baghel said that in the past, the practical difficulties which were faced due to the rules made for felling of trees, attention has also been paid to remove them in this scheme and in this scheme, for the felling of trees planted in private land. Farmers will not need to take permission in future.

 

   Chief Minister Baghel also performed Bhoomi Pujan of Biodiversity Park being built in 20 acres of area in village Funda of Durg district in a program organized at his residence office here today. Similarly, he inaugurated plantation work at village Sendri in Bilaspur, village Kohkimari, Dilmili, Karpavand in Bastar district, village Bhelekhurd in Balrampur district, Kulgaon in Kanker district, Mungimata in Mahasamund district, Lohajhari in Kawardha district. Discussed with MPs-MLAs, Parliamentary Secretaries, members of Forest Management Committee and members of self-help groups and Panchayat representatives present in the program and urged to connect more and more people to this program to increase public participation for the implementation of the scheme. did.  

 

    Chief Minister Baghel said that the Chief Minister’s Tree Plantation Promotion Scheme has also been linked with the Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyay Yojana. Farmers who have taken paddy crop in Kharif year 2020, if they plant trees in their fields instead of paddy crop, then they will be given incentive amount at the rate of 10 thousand rupees per acre per year for the next 3 years. Farmers will not need to take permission from any department in future for felling the trees planted in their fields. Under the scheme, preparations have been made by the Forest Department to plant more than 99 lakh saplings this year, along with the distribution of 2 crore 27 lakh saplings. Due to public participation in this campaign, the guarantee of success will also be more. 

     The Chief Minister said that under the Chief Minister’s Tree Plantation Incentive Scheme, if commercial plantation is done from the amount available with the Gram Panchayats, then in case of successful plantation after one year, incentive amount will be given to the concerned Gram Panchayats at the rate of Rs. 10 thousand per acre. This will increase the income of Panchayats. Similarly, if tree plantation is done on the revenue land on commercial basis from the amount available with Joint Forest Management Committees, then like Panchayat, incentive amount will be given to the concerned committee at the rate of 10 thousand rupees per acre after one year. The right to cut and sell the trees will be with the concerned committee. 
    Presiding over the program, Forest Minister Mr. Mohammad Akbar said that the Chief Minister’s Tree Plantation Promotion Scheme launched by the state government would prove to be a revolutionary scheme in the direction of environmental improvement of Chhattisgarh. This will encourage plantation on private land. environmental improvement in villages, People will get many benefits including increase in ground water level. In the program, Additional Chief Secretary Shri Subrata Sahu informed that the decade of restoration of ecology is being celebrated from the year 2021 to 2030 for environmental protection. Taking concrete initiative in this direction, the Chief Minister’s Tree Plantation Scheme has been started by the state government. The Principal Secretary, Forest Department, Shri Manoj Pingua, while addressing the program, described the Chief Minister’s Tree Plantation Promotion Scheme as very helpful for environmental protection and balance. In the program, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests and Chief of Forest Force Shri Rakesh Chaturvedi informed about the action plan prepared by the Forest Department regarding the successful implementation of Chief Minister’s Tree Plantation Promotion Scheme. 
    On this occasion, MPs, Parliamentary Secretaries, MLAs, members of Forest Management Committee from different districts also joined online. Advisors to the Chief Minister, Mr. Rajesh Tiwari and Mr. Vinod Verma and Secretary to the Chief Minister, Mr. Siddharth Komal Singh Pardeshi were also present at the Chief Minister’s residence office.
