Review of progress of schemes of Urban Administration Department

The poor sections living in the urban settlements of Chhattisgarh will now get the facility of treatment more easily. The number of mobile medical units is being increased from 120 to 150 under the Chief Minister’s Urban Slum Health Scheme. Chief Secretary Mr. Amitabh Jain, while reviewing the high priority schemes of the government, directed the officials of the Urban Administration Department to organize medical camps through mobile units at maximum number of places for the treatment of the urban poor. He said that the services of the Urban Administration Department should be made readily available to the people living in the urban areas. He said that the work of building permission, tap collection, social security pension, gumasta, license etc. should be done within the time limit.
Chief Secretary Mr. Jain said that the Krishna Kunj built in the cities should be continuously monitored. Saplings should be planted in Krishna Kunj before the rains. He inquired about units for making vermicompost and paint from cow dung in Gothans built in urban areas and instructed to conduct employment-oriented activities in Gothans systematically. Similarly, he said that the Chief Minister’s Mitan scheme should be monitored. Officials said that there is a plan to expand the Mitan scheme to provide necessary documents for government work to the urban people. Use of cow dung paint, regularization of illegal constructions, development of commercial plots and other schemes were also reviewed in the meeting. In the meeting, officials of the Urban Administration Department informed that the number of mobile medical unit vehicles will be increased from 120 to 150 under the Mukhyamantri Swasthya Slum Yojana. Under this scheme, so far more than 44 lakh 37 thousand patients have been treated, free medicines have been distributed to 38 lakh patients and various types of pathology tests have been done to 11 lakh patients. 68 thousand 723 official documents have been delivered to the citizens at their homes through the Mukhyamantri Mitan Yojana. Under the Mitan Yojana, more than 78 thousand people have booked appointments to get government documents at home. There are 195 Dhanvantari Medical Stores operating in the state under the Shree Dhanvantari Medical Stores Scheme. High quality generic medicines are being made available to the people at low prices through these stores.
