Chhattisgarh is preparing to install panic buttons in passenger buses to ensure the safety of women and students in school buses. In case of any accident or tampering in the bus due to the installation of the panic button, the control room will be immediately informed by pressing the panic button. Along with this, the location, speed etc. of the buses will also be known. With this stopping the arbitrariness of the drivers, the possibility of accident will also reduce. The control room of the GPS system has been made in the office of Dial 112.
According to the information received from the Transport Department of Chhattisgarh, with the introduction of this system, the public will be greatly facilitated in dealing with any kind of danger and untoward incident. At present, a total of 12 thousand buses are operating in the state, which are going to every corner of the state through different routes. Similarly, about 6000 school buses are also operating in the state. With the installation of panic button and GPS in the buses, you will get instant information about the buses.
It may be noted that according to the intention of Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel in the state, under the guidance of Transport Minister Mr. Mohammad Akbar, keeping in mind the public convenience, continuous efforts are being made by the department for smooth traffic arrangements. In this regard, the officials of the Transport Department said that under the new system, the route of the school bus will also be mapped so that if the school bus carrying children goes somewhere other than the prescribed route, an automatic alert will come. For this, the duty of four employees will be assigned according to the shift in the control room, who will continuously monitor all the buses and will inform the police department in case of emergency.

In case of an accident or any problem due to the installation of the panic button, the passengers boarding the bus will press the panic button. As soon as the button is pressed, the police control room and transport control room will get the information and the staff of the nearest police station will immediately reach the bus and help the passengers.
Ever since the Nirbhaya incident in Delhi, the Central Government had given instructions to take steps towards women’s safety so that such incidents do not recur. Under this, it was decided to track all passenger vehicles under the Nirbhaya Fund in the state of Chhattisgarh through vehicle tracking platform by installing GPS in passenger vehicles. Vehicle tracking software has been made through chips and command and control center has also been made in Dial 112 building located in Civil Lines Raipur to see live tracking of all vehicles and take quick action.

Installation of GPS system will curb criminal incidents. Information about the correct route of the buses will be available.
