Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel today launched the website of the program High Impact Mega Watershed Project organized at his residence office here and released a booklet published with the aim of strengthening the livelihood of small and marginal farmers in rural areas. While congratulating and congratulating the Chhattisgarh Government BRLF, Axis Bank Foundation and Ford Foundation jointly, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel said that effective implementation of the watershed project should be ensured. It is to be mentioned here that this mega watershed project in the state of Chhattisgarh is being implemented by 13 voluntary organizations in 26 development blocks of 12 districts in partnership with BRLF, Axis Bank Foundation and the Government of Chhattisgarh. High Impact Mega Watershed Project in Chhattisgarh was started in February 2019 with the vision of Panchayat and Rural Department Chhattisgarh and in partnership with BRLF and Axis Bank Foundation.
Its main objective is to increase the income of one lakh small and marginal farmer families through watershed management. Under this scheme, the structures being built under Mahatma Gandhi NREGA through voluntary organizations and community organizations are being made more effective and useful for livelihood. Under the High Impact Mega Watershed Project, the capabilities of MGNREGA field staff are being developed for water catchment management under Ridge to Valley principle. Participation of women and backward class villagers is being ensured in each phase of the scheme. For the implementation of this scheme, PRADAN (CHG) is providing technical support to the participating institutions through the State Level Management Unit (CHC) in the role of the main partner organization.
